They call me mellow YELLOW

The obsession started with seeing these YELLOW bar stools in the August issue of Better Homes and Garden. Meet Jeni, in her kitchen, she owns Jeni's Ice cream and is having a fancy little ice cream party. I totally want to go to this party! I am also obsessed with homemade ice cream right now, so I think she is awesome! I emailed "my friend" Jeni here and she emailed me right back. She got them at Design within Reach...looked into it and they will set you back close to $250 each. I found a knock off on Overstock and got four for the price of her PERFECT one. They won't ever be Jeni's bar stools but I can come close with the right paint color and the right painter (Kevi).
So I have yet to paint the bar stools, but ALMOST everything else is getting coat of YELLOW paint. I love them in my kitchen. They take up less space then my other ones did and I like the simple clean lines.
Little cutie Lola just a rockin... I think she likes YELLOW too,
she looks good in it!

LOVE these YELLOW flowers from my favorite store...The Black Goose!
YELLOW pub table, looking all spiffy for Book Club.
YELLOW tray. If I can't paint it yellow I will put it IN something yellow!

This is the yellow I used: Benjamin Moore Marble Head Gold
Benjamin Moore's Concord Ivory is a nice one for walls (Rach let me know how that goes..ha!)
and I am going to do my barstools in Stuart Gold (I think :)

You too will be obsessed with homemade ice cream after making this...

Rocky Road Ice Cream
from the OurBestBites cookbook

2 cups heavy cream
3/4 cup low-fat milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 tablespoon vanilla
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
1 cup mini marshmallows

1. Gently whisk cream, milk, sugars, vanilla, and cocoa powder by hand for about 2 minutes to incorporate the cocoa powder and dissolve the sugars.
2. Freeze in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
3. When the ice cream has finished churning, fold in the pecans and marshmallows by hand and transfer to a freezer container. Freeze for 1-2 hours or until desired consistency is reached
